Admissions Welcome
IHS Portland welcomes dynamic college-bound students who are eager to embrace a rigorous, multi-lingual curriculum, wish to build an international understanding and have a desire to learn in an urban setting with access to university faculty and facilities. IHS Portland seeks to bring together students from a wide range of socioeconomic, cultural and educational backgrounds.
To identify the students who will benefit from, thrive in and contribute to the IHS Portland community, the Admissions committee carefully considers:
- Student and parent statements
- Insights gained from a personal interview with the prospective student
- Letters of recommendation
- Involvement in extracurricular activities
- Standardized test scores
Students do not need prior language experience to enter IHS Portland.
